Nostalgic Lunchbox Treats

Do you remember the days when the lunch bell rang, signaling the excitement of discovering the treasures hidden in your lunch box? Join me as I take a trip down memory lane, revisiting some items—some I’d rather forget—and the iconic snacks and treats that fueled my childhood adventures and satisfied my youthful cravings.

As a kid, I ate school-provided lunches because I got them for free. The strangest thing I saw on the school menu was chili served with a peanut butter sandwich. It took me about a year to try dipping my peanut butter sandwich in the chili, and to this day, I eat PB sandwiches with my chili! When I packed lunch, my favorite thing to find was a peanut butter and jelly-soaked bread sandwich with Cheetos.

If I could create one school lunch item from scratch, it would be greasy spaghetti and meat sauce with garlic bread. The ultimate school lunch menu should include beef nachos, buttered corn, and two chocolate milks!

My secret trick to making the ultimate lunchbox meal is a good dessert—a cookie, bar, or other sweet surprise. It’s also important to ensure a well-balanced and nutritional meal. Ensure you have a drink, protein, fruit cup or fresh fruit, multigrain chips or pretzels, and yogurt.

I would like to see items in a breakfast box, including a pancake-wrapped sausage link and breakfast bites.
